WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing, using a hand held tool to create little nicks in the skin, which mimic natural hairs. This look is ideal if you don't want anything too noticeable or if you rarely wear makeup.
It is important to know that once healed the brows are very soft. If you are wanting perfectly groomed brows, and you wear makeup regularly, I would recommend looking to have ombre/powder/combo brows.
WHO IS SUITABLE FOR MICROBLADING?
You must be aged 18 or over *ID may be required* If you have ANY medical conditions, or take ANY medications please let me know BEFORE booking your consultation. You need to be off blood thinning medications for 1 year before a treatment can be carried out. If you are pregnant or breast feeding the treatment cannot be carried out. Microblading is not suitable for skin that is oily/very thin, sensitive, or mature skins with rosacea.
DOES IT HURT?
The treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, most clients describe it as a mild, and say that threading/plucking is worse. Red heads, blondes and fair skin types may experience more swelling and redness than darker skin types.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A (non-refundable) Booking fee is required: £55
All of the above includes a full consultation, initial procedure, thorough after care advice and a re-touch 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. I recommend having a tint/wax one week prior or on the day of your patch test as this will freshen/tidy your brows ready for the treatment. Tinting and waxing is £15.00.
Split Payment option:
Booking fee: £55
1st Appointment: £110
Top up appointment: £110
All prices are subject to change.
Avoid any activity that will cause you to sweat on the day of your treatment. Do no take aspirin, fish oil, coudamin, vitamin E or ibuprofen for 72 hours before your procedure (unless medically advised). Paracetamol is fine. Avoid caffeine/alcohol for 24 hours before and after your treatment. Smoking will cause the pigment to prematurely fade, nd if you smoke on the day you will bleed more. You are responsible for maintaining your appointments.
Do not have tan/sunburn on your face on the day of your treatment. NO SUN 30 days prior and post treatment (re-touch also). If you arrive at your appointment with a tan/sunburn you will be required to reschedule and your booking fee or complimentary retouch priviledge will be forfeited. I reserve the right to apply my own discretion if I feel that pre-procedure advice has not been followed. Avoid exfoliating/anti ageing products around the brows for 4 weeks prior to the treatment. Botox or other fillers (Must be carried out 6 weeks before the first treatment or 6 weeks after the top up) You must have finished taking acne medication (Accutane) for at least one year – no exceptions. These types of medications make the skin extremely brittle.
If you get your brows waxed or tinted, get this done 1 week before the procedure. It is also recommended to wait at least 30 days to have them tinted/waxed after the procedure.
For the first hour after the procedure, blot your eyebrows with clean tissue until the weeping has stopped. On the first evening gently cleanse your eyebrows with baby shampoo, rinse, pat dry with strong kitchen tissue, and use a small amount of the balm provided to moisturise your brows, but please don't over moisturise them. Repeat this morning and night for the first 72 hours then leave your brows completely dry for 2 weeks.
Only touch the area with clean hands during the healing process. Any scabbing or flaking will naturally shed. Some
itching is normal, but please don't pick, peel or scratch the treated area as the colour may heal unevenly and you will risk scarring and infection.
Do NOT apply any creams/makeup/cosmetics on your brows for 2 weeks after your treatment. You can get your brows wet after 2 weeks from your initial treatment, but only if all of the scabs have disappeared. Your aftercare procedure is just as important
as your initial treatment. Absolutely NO exercise, swimming, sunbathing, sun beds, saunas, direct shower spray, water or makeup should be applied in the area during the healing period. (14 days after treatment) Avoid sleeping on your face 2 weeks after the treatment.
No swimming until the area has completely healed. It is recommended to apply some vaseline to your brows when swimming after healing to protect the colour and stop chlorine/salt water from entering.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Microblading generally tends to last up to 18 months. it really depends on your skin, lifestyle and maintenance. I recommend having a tint + wax every 6-8 weeks to maintain the fresh look of your brows.
